Diabetes is major public health issue of the world and requires
seriously attention globally. Over the 340 million people are suffering from
diabetes. It is a dangerous figure and also devastating.
It is most important that recognizing the urgency of this public health
problem globally and taken a global target to stop the rise in diabetes cases.
Diabetes affects nearly 26 million American of all ages and seventh
leading cause of death in United
States . It is also researched that around 79
million adults are estimated to have pre-diabetes.
While we have made improvement in research leading to superior treatment
of diabetes, the burden of this multifarious disease continues to increase.
Diabetes is the foremost cause of kidney failure, lower-limb amputations not
caused by injury, and new cases of blindness among adults in the United States .
Diabetes also is a major origin of heart disease and stroke.
We can improve the quality of healthy life for millions of people and
save that billion dollars invested for it to prevent type 2 diabetes and its complications.
The direct and indirect costs of diabetes in 2012 were as much as $178 billion.
So far, while type 2 diabetes is often preventable, more and more people
including young people are at risk for type 2 diabetes due partly to the fatness
endemic and aging of the U.S.
residents.
Type 1 diabetes which is most usually diagnosed in children and young
adults. At this time there is no way to prevent type 1 diabetes, however
researchers continue their work to find out
the risk factors and explore
preventive actions.
It is compulsory to keep in mind the topic of HHS’s National Diabetes
